SUPREME GOVERNOR VISIT

Supreme Governor Wesley Crowder is scheduled to visit our Lodge on Saturday, February 11th, 2011.

Wesley I. Crowder served as Supreme Governor of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was elected to this position at the 12rd International Convention in Anaheim in 2011. He had previously served as Supreme Jr. Governor in 2010-2011 and Supreme Prelate during 2009-2010.

Wes joined Bedford VA lodge #1897 in 1963. He served as Lodge Governor, Past Governor,Sports Chairman.

At the state level, Wes served as District 6 President, Past District President and District Chairman for the Virginia Moose Association and served as Deputy Supreme Governor, Outer Guard and Sergeant at Arms.

A membe of the 50 Division of the Moose 25 Club, Wes received the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1974 and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 1982.

In addition of his Moose involvement, Wes is an active supporter of his local school district and is a leader in numerous homebuilders associaiions in Virginia. He is on th eBoard of Safe Surfin' USA and also serves on the Department of Charitible Gaming.

Please plan on attending our lodge on February 11th at 5:00 pm and meet our Supreme Governor. A special Buffet will be on the menu for a special price of $6.00. There will be other activities for children and adults alike

For those of you who do not know, we lost one of our best sister's/co'workers on November 22, 2012. Senior Regent Barb Sparks suddenly passed away. She will be greatly missed. She did a lot of work for our Chapte and Lodge. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope everybody had a safe and happy holiday. Now is the time to set you New Year's resolutions. We can use your help in our fundraising events this year. We have a bake sale every Friday and Saturday evenings, and we serve up breakfast every 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. Your support is needed i donating baked goods or time in both of these events. Another way to support these eventsisto come in and purchase items.
The 2nd Saturday of each month is our Dance Night. February 11th will be our Valentine's Dance Night. For those of you who wish to "dress up"
this would be an ideal time. That same evening our Supreme Governor will be visiting our lodge. We wil need help at 10am on that day to help decorate the lodge.
We will host the2nd Annual Car and Bike Show in June. More information will be forthcoming.

Community Support is also needed. You can help by collecting aluminum can pull tabs, plastic bottle tops and Box Tops for Education.

A big thank you goes out to all those who donated to our Glove and Hat Tree this year. It will provide some additional warmth to those who could not afford it.

Again, have a HAPPY NEW YEAR! GO WOTM!

Happy 2012!

We continue to strive for great service, great food at a great value in the Social Quarters to all our members and guests. I am getting many more positive comments in all 3 areas and our goal is to be even better. Your comments are always welcome.
Our membership is begining to rebound from the negative trends we have had over the past several years. As of today, we have accepted over 45 new members into our fraternity since May 1st. We need everybody's help in sponsoring new members and retaining current members. Our goal is to increase the membership of our lodge by 1 for the entire year. As of January 9th, we have had a -1 in membership. HELP! Remember, sign up two new members and your next year's dues are FREE. Beginning January 1, 2012 and through April 30th the application fee has been waived for all new applicants.
The use of our banquet facilities is free to our members! Help support our lodge and utiize a great benefit by booking your private parties here.
Lastly, I wish to thank the entire membership for the great suppoort you have given me and our staff. I will always keep the good of the membership my #1 priority. I always welcome your comments and suggestions.
Let's make 2012 a great one for yourselves and the Speedway 500 Moose Lodge!
